A much-improved rugged adventure watch with strong battery and display, but it offers the same features as the cheaper Vantage V3, so the extra cost is hard to justify.

The best watch Polar offers, with a great AMOLED screen, strong sports tracking and improved performance, though mapping trails rivals and value is only moderate.

Premium, durable hardware with accurate dual-band GPS and strong recovery tools, but a dated interface, weak app and missing smartwatch basics make the high price hard to justify.
Read OutdoorGearLab review - 70Pocket-lint
A rugged, good-looking adventure watch with solid battery and maps, but too expensive for the missing basics like music storage, NFC and training platform support.

The Polar Grit X2 Pro is a well-built, premium outdoor watch with excellent hardware and improved heart rate tracking, but it is held back by a dated user interface and a high price point.
Read Desfit review - 73est.Wareable
A very good outdoor watch with AMOLED, dual-frequency GPS and navigation, but a Garmin Fenix is more capable and the near-identical Vantage V3 is a better buy.

Gorgeous hardware with accurate GPS and strong battery, undermined by unintuitive software, bugs and a price that is hard to justify.

Premium hardware that is functionally identical to the cheaper Vantage V3, with annoying constant compass calibration and a steep price to justify.
Read DC Rainmaker review - 63est.The Verge
A competent watch with good battery and accuracy, but lacking smart features and polish for $750, with the cheaper Vantage V3 the better pick.
