Remarkably light with a superb keyboard and sharp screen, yet lackluster performance, unremarkable battery life and stability glitches temper enthusiasm for a $2,000-plus laptop.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 is a highly portable and well-built laptop with a great keyboard and display, but its high price makes it difficult to recommend over more powerful or affordable alternatives.
